Welcome
The xBase syntax has been used by
programmers for the past twenty years. High level languages like Clipper,
FoxPro, xBase++ and Visual Objects have all been used to create
applications that are the backbone of many businesses today. As our
industry moves into a new future, and Microsoft.NET becomes more important
to our clients, we are faced with the next challenge of moving our xBase
code.
Vulcan.NET Compiler
The
Vulcan.NET Compiler is the next generation in xBase products. Built from
the ground up in Microsoft C++, Vulcan.NET is a fully compliant .NET
compiler. All applications are written using the xBase syntax while the
executables created by Vulcan.NET can be debugged with the usual Microsoft
tools.
Vulcan DataBase Engine
One
of the common links between the xBase languages is their use of .DBF and .CDX
files. VulcanDB is a class library that provides access to these files for
the .NET platform. Because VulcanDB is a 100% managed code assembly it can
even be used on devices that are running the .NET Compact Framework.
MS Visual Studio 2005 or Vulcan IDE
Vulcan.NET gives you a choice of integrated development environments. The Vulcan.NET
compiler ships with Visual Studio 2005. If you are already using another
.NET language, you will be familiar with the Visual Studio IDE, editors,
tools and debugger. We are also able to offer the VulcanIDE, an IDE
written in Vulcan.NET for those users migrating from Visual Objects.
